I'm running for office because I wanted to be sure that this seat didn't go uncontested. My original thought was that I would help support another candidate, but when it became clear that no one else was going to run, I decided to do it. The issues facing us are immense- from fighting to restore reproductive freedoms to protecting democracy, I couldn't sit this one out. I've enjoyed finding common ground with voters of all affiliations on the campaign trail.

Signed several letters disputing the validity of the 2020 election, including a letter to Former U.S. Vice President Pence encouraging him to halt certification of the presidential election, and letters to Inspector General of Pennsylvania Lucas Miller and Attorney General of Pennsylvania Josh Shapiro in December 2020 calling for an independent review of the election.
Maloney also signed a letter to the Pennsylvania Congressional Delegation urging them to “object, and vote to sustain such objection, to the Electoral College votes received from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania during the Joint Session of Congress on January 6, 2021”.
Maloney was one of several GOP lawmakers who cosponsored HR 1094 disputing the results of the 2020 General Election in Pennsylvania. He is one of many who has claimed that the certification of the 2020 election in Pennsylvania was “premature, unconfirmed, and in error.”
