One of the biggest motivating factors for me running for office was the feeling of hopelessness when Roe fell. That was very ominous for me. I have a daughter and a grand-daughter and I want them to live in a world with more protections, not less. I knew it was time to take a stance. I'm proud that I've been able to turn that hopelessness into action.

Ridley published social media posts questioning the validity of the 2020 election. Co-sponsored or voted for legislation that would make it a felony for friends or neighbors to help a person with a disability to return their mail-in ballot, require that drop-boxes be moved to indoor locations, make voter ID requirements for absentee voting stricter, limit early voting hours, reduce the amount of time voters have to return mail-in ballots, and propose audits for elections that would examine voter registration and absentee ballots.
