Why are you running for office?

I'm a civics teacher by profession. I can't stand in front of students every day talking about protecting democracy and not challenge the most extreme member of the Pennsylvania legislature. It is critical that we protect our democratic institutions, especially in a critical swing state like Pennsylvania. Next, we need to fully fund public education and make our public schools stronger, not weaker.

What issues or causes in your community are most important to you?

1) Education

2) Election adminstration

3) Abortion/reproductive rights

Opponent

Doug Mastriano

Mastriano signed several letters disputing the validity of the 2020 election, including letters to Former U.S. Vice President Pence and Senator Mitch McConnell encouraging them to halt certification of the presidential election, and letters to Inspector General of Pennsylvania Lucas Miller and Attorney General of Pennsylvania Josh Shapiro in December 2020 calling for an independent review of the 2020 election.

Mastriano’s campaign also “spent thousands of dollars on charter buses” to facilitate attendance to  the January 6th insurrection, according to campaign finance records.

Signed a letter to the PA Congressional Delegation, encouraging them to “object, and vote to sustain such objection, to the Electoral College votes received from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania during the Joint Session of Congress on January 6, 2021.”
