After I got the text from Contest Every Race asking me about running for office, I realized that if I didn't, maybe no one would. My representative has been in office for 10 years but has not been active or shown up for our community. I can do better than that because I know what's on the line. From access to medicine to quality of education, there are huge disparities in Georgia that affect folks on racial and gender lines. It's time to change that once and for all.

LaHood signed onto a letter to the Secretary of State in November 2020 requesting an audit of signatures on absentee ballot envelopes to ensure that they matched the signature on file with the Secretary of State.
