There are over 500,000 elected offices in America, but there is no central database listing them all. Your 501c3 dollars will help us put together the only database of uncontested races in the country.

Before we can begin recruiting progressives to run for office where none would run otherwise, we have to research (1) all the down-ballot races up for filing and (2) the incumbents’ names and partisanship. The required research is extensive, since nobody keeps statewide lists of school board, town council, and county commissioner races and incumbents in most states. Vendors don’t have this info either, because nobody else is focused on races at the bottom of the ballot, in rural areas with the smallest populations.

So we research it ourselves, from scratch. We do this efficiently, with 2 staff organizers managing 70 volunteers who call every town clerk and school district office to get the data. We focus on states with thousands of local races up for filing, so it takes time.
